Hi There!
I’m sure by now you’ve realized that I love travel photographs and that Instagram is one of my favorite SM channels. So much so that I ask my followers to share their *best* photos under the hashtag #maketimetoseetheworld. I feature up to 2-3 per week on Instagram and each month share my Top 10 in a blog post round-up. Scroll down for my favorite shots from the month of February!

If you ever want to be stranded on your own deserted island, Los Roques is the place for you! We came to the airport of Caracas not expecting to get a ticket right away. An hour later we were up in the air, flying over reef islands in a turquoise paradise. We intended to stay a day or three and ended up being there for ten. Every morning we got a boat from the main island Gran Roque to one of the many deserted islands of Los Roques. For the really deserted feel we went to the islands further away, had the skipper drop us off and agreed on a time to be picked up again. And then we found ourselves truly alone under the sun, with our feet in the white sand. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen! On Gran Roque, the only inhabited island here, many of the 150 houses of the locals have been turned into small posadas where you can stay half pension or all inclusive as facilities are limited (atm-s had just been installed when we were there). Still, there were a couple (literally) of great restaurants with caipirinhas being served with the fresh catch of the day 😉 #Venezuela Venezuela was living under Chavez when we were there. It was tense sometimes. The country was divided. This special country is going through rough times now. We hope Venezuela and its people will get back on their feet. #LosRoques #SouthAmerica #playa #playasdevenezuela #losroquesvenezuela #beach #coralisland #archipelago #island #whitesand #caribbean #paradise #travelling #wanderlust #reizen #reisen #viajar #viagem #maketimetoseetheworld #compassunion #travelingtheworld #traveldiscoverearth #travel2next #NOWNimated #backpackers_official #herepin #amazingworldHD #ig_travel #exploretheworld

I so desperately want to do the Great Ocean Road between Melbourne and Sydney. That picture is making my wander bug even worse! Can’t wait to go 🙂

    • Vicki says:

Hi Annie – The Great Ocean Road is actually the south coast of Victoria and heads towards the border with South Australia. Sydney is in the other direction – I’m sure the coast road would be a fabulous drive tho!

  2. Carmen's Luxury Travel says:

I love the idea of a monthly Instagram roundup. Especially because it’s from different users, not just your own photos! They are all breathtaking but I especially love the one of the Great Ocean Road and Venice! Thanks for sharing, I’m looking forward to tuning in next month.

  3. Greg Kennon says:

This is such a good idea! I like doing something similar with my best articles of the week post. It’s an easy way to stay in touch with other travel bloggers. Love it!

    • Vicki says:

Thank you – and yes there may be zillions of pictures of Instagram, but these round ups are of those tagged with my hashtag #maketimetoseetheworld – it makes it a bit easier and is more quantifiable!

  4. Jetsetter Jenn says:

What an awesome roundup! All of these photos are pretty epic, but that Venice one is my favorite! Same with the reindeer! Okay, I guess I have two favorites 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!

  5. Pedro says:

Great roundup! That’s a fantastic idea. I was trying to find a favourite one and I found it quite difficult. But I guess the reindeer looks so cool that I’d have to choose it.
