Travel Photo Tuesday
This week’s photo was taken on the banks of the Mekong in Luang Prabang, Northern Laos. The Mekong is the world’s 12th longest river and transects 6 countries borders. It represents a key trade route through Asia and has been home to families on its banks for centuries.
Taken on the banks of the Mekong, north of Luang Prabang whilst visiting a village where they weave with traditional equipment and make alcohol from rice (lao-lao). I felt at peace to witness a simpler life and a sense of wonder at a community living such a tranquil existence on the banks of a river that has sustained life for centuries.
